so here we are again, at the last evening of year 33...

I also wrote an entry on the same day, last year. Maybe a good day to start writing again...
My conclusion in 2010 was that being 32 was the best year of my life.

I still agree.

I also agree on the fact that 33 was the worst year of my life. Falling in love, getting my heart broken by a heartless person, getting a job, losing that job again after 3 months of having to work with a alcoholic and a boss who thought he was Hitler and wanted to get me in his kampf. Some other things... Well, I'm not gonna tell that story here...

It's been an horrible year with lots of tears and sighs. I've become very silent sometimes.

I did meet some nice new people, learned more about myself and life. I also did have a lot of fun, thank God for that. I went to Paris a few times, saw the Eiffeltower (that always makes me smile), saw fireworks, had a lot of drinks, spend a lot of time with family (which is very important to me), ate delicious food and did dream a lot. I dreamed about love (still dreaming), a job (still dreaming too) and know that dreaming isn't enough. Action there must be and so it will be :)

Don't worry, I know for years life isn't easy. Life isn't what you thought it would be. Maybe that's why I put my memories in a golden box that I can open when life is a bit gray. At least I still can, nobody took that away from me and I've been enjoying every fun moment for 100 %. I've enjoyed the little sun we had during the summer, I enjoyed new music, I enjoyed friendship (best thing in life), books, long evening out in the city, new clothes, new recipes....

I enjoyed life, even when it wasn't always as fun as I planned.

And you know what? It can only get better...

Because you know why? I always say this: Did you know there's an hour of sunshine for a million years of rain but somehow that always seems to be enough...

PS: So let me share with you something that's in my little box of memories :)

so, it's almost Christmas...

Time goes fast when you are busy!

So, it's snowing and people are advised to stay in because it's dangerous outside. It looks so nice and to me it doesn't seem very cold. Instead of cleaning my house and making food to put in the freezer, I just left it all where it was and went outside in the snow. I went into the city to the H&M store where I bought 2 dresses. Yay! A cool red one and a blue one with orange dots on it. The dots are the same color as the nailpolish I bought a while ago :)

When I came home again, I started to clean the house, made the food for the freezer and even a delicious meal for dinner.

What a lovely day! This is the FIRST day in weeks my vertigo is almost gone. I hope it stays away but I know it won't be as the lights at the fire department will bring it back. Anyway, it was nice to feel alive again and to walk without a problem, to shop, to clean etc! The vertigo is a horrible feeling that makes it impossible to function normal. That weird feeling in my head makes me feel bad, even when there is nothing to feel bad about... But today it's gone, so I hope tomorrow too! I still feel it in the background but that's no problem..

busy days...

It are super busy days at the fire department, the firemen have alarms several times a day..

Fires, gas leaks, people in elevator... You can't believe how many people are stuck in an elevator.

For me, it are busy days too, kind of tired during the evenings...

So this week it was one year ago this whole story started, they day I got fired. I might be one of those people who will never regret that she got fired because it totally changed my life. In a positive way. Maybe I've said it before but I've become a complete different person. I've become softer and more patient. I also learned to get a thicker skin. Selective deafness and just ignoring some people has become a habit and it has made my life better and easier.

People notice I'm different and say I'm so positive these days.

Anyway, on the 7th of December, the holy day of getting fired, I celebrated by having dinner with a good friend and a few glasses of wine. The fact that I was working somewhere, made it even better. Some people get depressed after getting fired but I just got happy again. I was so frustrated in my job, there was nothing interesting about it and the atmosphere in the office was terrible.

But I still have to get used by the thought of working all day. The last months were so much fun. I really started to miss the extra world so Monday I'm taking a day off to spend a day in the tv studios :) Yay, playing a doctor again and in the afternoon I'm going to be a visitor of the bar where all the characters go to have a drink.

I can't wait :) Just one day of being "in the picture", then back to work!

Where is the fire!

Oh, I've been so busy working that I didn't have the time to write here. This is also just a little note to let you know that things are going well and that working at the fire department is just AWESOME!

Firemen, I totally love them! They are cute, nice and very talkative. That's what happens if you work in a mens world, I guess. I heard there are 4 firewoman, but I think one is pregnant so she can't work for the moment. For the rest it are all muscled men, some with very cute faces. Hmm, don't you understand now that I called it awesome? And yes, I already have a few favorites ;)

More details later...

What a day! (again, but now it's going to take some time for new extra jobs, real stuff now)

I was in the seventies today!

Yes, after the sixties, it were the seventies now. For a new movie called *groenten uit Balen*. I even don't have a clue about what it's about but all I know is that you can see me for 3 seconds (woehoe) in a bank where I receive money. It was even some old money, Belgian francs. I didn't know some people still have that kind of money, but for a movie, everything is possible. It was a short scene of maybe 1 or 2 minutes but that needed a 45 minute make-over of make-up & hair. Crazy, just crazy is this movie business if you ask me..

Here is the result:

I look so different with tons of make-up! The make-up girls always give me a lot of great comments and a lot of people (also men) give me a lot of compliments about my legs. Really! So weird! People I've never seen before! Sometimes I think by myself: "and why isn't there any man that is interested in me, everyone says I look so nice", followed by a huge sigh by myself... (but that's another story that isn't interesting to mention here :)

In the last months, I've been using more make-up. I still look natural but I've learned by being an extra, that it's nice to put an accent on some parts of my face. This means more lipstick and more eye shadow. The
make-up lady always give me advice how to look better. Lovely!

And it got even better as it was the first time I could see myself in the telenovella *Ella*. I hadn't told anyone because I'm a bit shy to say to everyone: "tonight you must see tv, I'm on it!!". You never know if you look ridiculous so people will have to figure out themselves. And even without telling it, it seems some people saw it and mailed me or send a text message. Fun!!

"Narcissistic" as this entry already was, I'm going to put the final touch and post a picture of myself, Ella and Frederico in the restaurant as seen on tv :)

And tomorrow it's time for the real stuff: working at the fire department. I'm very very nervous, my head is exploding, my belly hurts already a few days and of course I think I'm gonna die tomorrow... But all will go well, I hope. I really don't know what to think about it, I know nothing of who I will meet and know a little of what I need to do. I've no experience so it's going to be an adventure I guess.

I only hope I can sleep, I'm so nervous since a few days so I haven't been able to sleep...It really worries me... I feel like I have a fever and I managed to forget to buy some bread! How dumb can you be!! And tomorrow the bakery is closed... Typical :)

Anyway, I'm looking forward to it but oh, I'm just a bit nervous.. If I can sleep a bit, that would be nice. It's the only thing I'm thinking about right now.. (and the bread for tomorrow..)

Walk of the day

Today I wanted to spend the afternoon in the fashion museum, my mother recommended the exhibition of Stephen Jones, a hat designer. She said the exhibition was brilliant so I went to the city to see lots of hats.

Big was my disappointment that the museum was closed. Stupid me had chosen a holiday for a museum visit, Kingsday. A day when some official buildings and city departments are closed. Yes, like the fashion museum.

The weather was amazing so I went to the Kammenstraat, where my favorite vintage store is and I bought a pink vintage dress for 11,20 euro. That's no money for a dress like that. It was a shame to go back home as there was sun outside. Yes, after days of raining and after disasters like last weekend (4 people were drowned because of the huge rain) there was S U N.

I went to my favorite butcher where I bought something to eat and went to the Schelde, the river. The sun was shining and you could even feel it on your skin. Lovely! I spend a few hours there listening to my audiobook, taking pictures and watching people passing by. I couldn't have planned a better afternoon than this!

Tomorrow last extra job for a while. This afternoon, less than 24h in advance, they finally gave me the castingcall. It's only for 3 hours, not much but it's in the afternoon so this means I can get some decent sleep & I'll be home at a decent hour. 25 EURO for 3 hours, that's not bad and there will be some extra friends, so I'm looking forward to it.. The day after it's working day!!!! More about this later...
